Working Groups

The working groups are established around the seven key priority areas of the initiative:

  • Water resources and management;
  • Resilience and disaster risk reduction;
  • Agriculture and zootechnics;
  • Forestry, protected areas and biodiversity;
  • Infrastructure (including transport and the energy sectors) and territorial planning;
  • Economic impacts and opportunities;
  • Social adaptation and impacts.

Within each one of those seven thematic areas, working group participants are encouraged to explore one or more of the following crosscutting themes:

  • modeling and assessment of climate impacts;
  • planning for climate adaptation;
  • building metrics and indicators;
  • financing and supporting climate adaptation; and
  • adapting the region.


Current Themes and Criteria

The criteria for establishing working groups is a combination of preferences, quorum, and groups with coordinators. The working groups initially established are:

  • Forestry, protected areas and biodiversity;
