nrg4SD and ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability work closely in complementarity towards the recognition of federated states, regions and local authorities in international negotiation processes in the field of sustainable development. In light of this long term partnership, nrg4SD is an endorsing partner of Resilient Cities 2012, 3rd Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation.

Continuing the journey towards a more sustainable and resilient urban future, ICLEI together with the City of Bonn and the World Mayors Council on Climate Change is hosting Resilient Cities 2012 from 12 to 15 May 2012 in Bonn, Germany, preceding and during the UN Bonn climate talks scheduled for 14-25 May 2012.

Resilient Cities 2012 will enhance exchange, learning, networking, debate and policy development on approaches and solutions to climate change for cities and municipalities. As the largest gathering of major actors in the urban adaptation and resilience field, the congress is the premier opportunity to network with the world’s adaptation and resilience experts.

Representatives from local governments, UN and international agencies, governments, finance institutions, insurance sector, urban infrastructure industry and non-governmental organisations will meet with planners and researchers, consultants and academics to discuss and share the state-of-the-art programs and the most recent results in the field of urban adaptation and resilience.
