On 4-6 October 2017, La Reunion, a French and European island in the Indian Ocean, in partnership with the Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development – nrg4SD , organizes the second edition of the International Conference on Climate Change Adaptation entitled “Islands, land of innovative solutions for all territories”, back to back with the 2017 nrg4SD General Assembly.
Reunion Island wishes to be an example for island territories, ultra-peripheral regions (UPR) and other regions in terms of energy autonomy and innovative sustainable solutions. Member of nrg4SD, The Climate Group, R20, ORU-FOGAR, and partner of WWF France and IUCN, the region of Reunion Island implements, since 2010, a volunteer policy on energy excellency and fight against the ecological footprint.
The second edition of the International Conference on Climate Change Adaptation will allow to showcase the expertise of the Reunion Island and other islands, to raise awareness on the issue of climate change and to facilitate exchanges among decision makers, students, practitioners and other stakeholders from all parts of the world.
The agenda for this event will be centered on three main axes:
