nrg4sd in ORU-Fogar's Steering Committee meeting

ORU-Fogar held its Steering Committee meeting in Montevideo, Uruguay, on September 24th, in collaboration with one of our members - Congreso de Intendentes - an organization that brings together all the political authorities of the 31 departmental governments of Uruguay.

nrg4SD, as an active partner of ORU-Fogar and as its representative in matters related to sustainable development and climate change, was responsible for presenting the work program of 2015 on Post-2015 and on the COP21 for the members of the Steering Committee.


Building up on the momentum generated by the adoption of the new United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and with COP21 approaching, the Lombardy Region and its Minister for Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development, Claudia Maria Terzi are organizing an event focused on  subnational governments and their commitment to climate change.

Implementing the SDGs in Europe

UNEP, the European Environmental Bureau and the European Economic and Social Committee are organising a conference in Brussels, Belgium, 12th and 13th November, 2015, focusing on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Europe. It poses a great opportunity for engagement of Major Groups and Stakeholders.

Western Province Climate Change Summit

The Western Province Climate Change Summit was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on September 8th and 9th 2015. The event was the result of a solid partnership between nrg4SD and its current Co-chair for the South, Western Province Government of Sri Lanka.

Bonn Climate Change Conference

The forty-second sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 42) and the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 42), as well as the June session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP2-9) were held from 1-11 June 2015 in Bonn, Germany.

nrg4SD and FNAU fostering action for urban and regional planning

During the World Summit Climate & Territories in Lyon, nrg4SD and FNAU (French Federation of Urban Planning Agencies) co-launched the publication “World Summit Climate & Territories Towards COP21 – Inspiring action for urban and regional planning”.

IAEG-SDGs - Indicators on the Post-2015 development agenda

The First Meeting of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs), 1-2 June, NYC in New York. The group was established by the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC) with the mission to propose an Indicator framework and a list of indicators for the global monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets on the period 2015-2030.

10YFP - Regional Discussions on SCP

The 10-year framework of programmes on sustainable consumption and production patterns (10YFP) is a global framework for action, endorsed by the United Nations Program for Environment (UNEP) with the aim of promoting international cooperation to accelerate the shift towards sustainable consumption and production in both, developed and developing countries.

On May 4 nrg4SD participated in a co-hosted event with the European Union Committee of the Regions and the Association of French Regions. The event aimed at discussing COP21 and the role of regions and cities.


An important part of nrg4SD mission is to support and facilitate the exchange of experiences among member subnational governments, as well as networking with the aim of promoting bilateral cooperation initiatives.
